Psalm 15: 1 – 5

Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary?  Who may live on your holy hill?  He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.  He who does these things will never be shaken.

As I read these verses, it occurred to me that they described Jesus.  We can dwell in the sanctuary and live on God’s holy hill because Jesus fulfilled all of these requirements for us.  He knew our weaknesses, our selfishness, our stubborness, our penchant for sin very well, so He walked before God perfectly, paid the price for our sin, and secured for us a home in heaven.

  1. So encouraging. We are set free from the condemnation of our failures and have joy in the complete provision of our Lord. Thank you for pointing out Jesus in these verses.
