Psalm 8:1,3

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the  earth !  You have set your glory above the heavens.

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place….

The psalmist tells us that God has set His glory above the heavens.  At the same time, God gives us a glimpse of His glory in the heavens: the moon and the stars which He has set in place for us to see.  This glimpse of His glory is a reminder of Who it is Who cares for us.

Psalm 1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God.”

This is an amazing and wonderful truth to keep in mind next time we are outside on a starry night.

  1. I love that God points to Himself in this beautiful, expansive way.: We are so small in comparison with this mighty creator, yet we see His artistic attention to detail in the delicate order of the heavens, available for us to enjoy. ❣️
