But do not think I will accuse you before the Father.  Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set.  If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.  But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?

Jesus is talking to the Jewish religious leadership.  They read The Mosaic Law every day, yet according to Jesus, they didn’t believe it.  No wonder they felt free to ignore the Law in favor of their own traditions.  They didn’t believe what Moses wrote.

Are we like that?  Do we read God’s Word, and say, “Oh, that’s nice.”, and then live our lives as though we never read it?  Let it not be.  I pray we would know God through His Word,  and live our lives by His power.
