But you, O LORD, sit enthroned forever; your renown endures through all generations.
In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.
Something struck me in these verses regarding the eternality of God. How many millions has He had a personal relationship with since time began. Each one had his personal struggles, joys, and sorrows which he shared with the Lord. These people have come and gone, but the Lord remains, and He is ready to be personal with the next generation. The earth will perish, (one version says it will wear out), but the Lord will continue. Cities, towns and civilizations will rise and fall, but God remains the same.
