God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.

Lest the nations believe that they are God, that they are in control, let us remember: God is seated on His holy throne and He reigns over all the nations.  Sometimes it may seem like the wicked are in charge, but God Himself is over all.

vs. 2 says, “He is the great King over all the earth.”
