But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands;…”
This is the key to living the Christian life, but if you have not spent time in the Word of God, and let Him teach you Who He is, and how much He loves you, then how will you be able to seek refuge in Him and say, “my times are in your hands.”
Oh, I love that verse! Once I was on my way to visit an elderly friend of mine when I locked my keys in the car and was left standing in the grocery store parking lot until my dad very kindly drove down to let me back in. It’s actually incredibly awkward to be randomly standing by your car as other shoppers bustle in and out! I had my Bible in my purse and as I got later and later for my visit I pulled it out and started reading. That day I “happened” to be in Psalm 31. That verse just jumped off the page at me — “My times are in Thy hand.” There was such joy having my Lord so clearly remind me that His hand at work, even in my forgetfulness! Now I have that verse hanging on my wall to remind me of my Lord’s kindness in speaking to me through His word just when I needed it. Thank you so much!
