Only God can restore the soul: chocolate cannot (though sometimes we try), sparkly pretty things cannot restore, nor can children or flowers.  Webster’s Dictionary defines restore as “to bring back to a former or normal condition by repairing or re-building, to bring back to health.”  Souls are battered by sin, damaged by life’s sorrows, bruised by disappointment in ourselves and others.  Only God can bring them back to health.  HE is the Healing Ointment.
